Here it is!  My finished mask of Audrey II from
Little Shop of Horrors for local burlesque dancer Li'l Relly.  It was quite an exciting project to work on and took a lot of time, but was really fun.  This will be used in a number that she performs to the song Feed Me.  It was actually a pretty good challenge to work on and I'm very happy with the results!

Below are some pictures from the process from conception to finished product.  The challenge here was creating a version of Audrey II that could be worn on the face.  My solution was to incorporate the eye piece as part of the leaves surrounding Audrey II.

The mask had to be cast in two different parts.  The first being the leafy eye piece which was cast in a great material called Neoprene.  Its flexible, sands well and is form fitting.  The other part was Audrey's head, which attaches over the mouth, and was made with liquid latex from Monster Makers.  This is extremely pliable and durable, creating a light and very wearable mask.  Finishing touches were added with some leaves around the outside and a coat of latex paint which won't crack or peel on flexible material.

And now the pay off!  Tonight I get to go see the mask performed.  I'll make sure to take pictures of the entire outfit.  I can't wait!  It's always sad to see a mask go, but the satisfaction comes when you see it come to life.

Hi Jana,

The mouth didn't move, but that gives me an idea for the next time I do something like this!
